The Temptation of Saint Anthony

The Bosch Parade 2021 theme is inspired by one of Jheronimus Bosch’s most intriguing works. The Temptation of Saint Anthony (c. 1501) is a masterpiece in his oeuvre. This work of art will be the source of inspiration for the 2021 Bosch Parade. The temptations Bosch depicted in this painting are manifold in their appearance. The same can be said of the present – our world too seems saturated with smaller and bigger temptations.

Open Call, inspiration and guideline

We happily invite multidisciplinary professional makers (m/f/x) to show us their imagination. Everything you need to know about our definitions, prerequisites, fees and selection procedures can be read in the ‘Bosch Parade Open Call Temptation‘.

The Bosch Parade artistic collective has also developed an ‘Bosch Parade Inspiration Temptation’. That will be the framework through which we’ll be looking to visualise the theme. The link http://boschproject.org allows you to nearly infinitely zoom in on this painting by Jheronimus Bosch.

In the spirit of Jheronimus Bosch

Visual art, performance art and community art mutually reinforce one another in this ‘armada of anomalies’. For Bosch Parade, fully new and multidisciplinary artworks, inspired by the works of Jheronimus Bosch are created. Bosch Parade has the explicit goal NOT to create replicas of images from Jheronimus Bosch’s artwork.
